Ball Touch and Control

These are two of the fundamental aspects of soccer. All players need to work on ball touch, keeping ball close and moving the ball. This drill using cones is a good exercise as it improves ball touch, dribbling and running with the ball. As players get more comfortable with their touch, they can do it faster while navigating through tighter and narrowly spaced cones.

Agility + Ball control + Coordination + Mental Focus = Soccer Player

This is a good way to simulate a game situation and the more practice a player has at these aspects, the more it comes natural in a game situation and the more confident and well rounded they will become as a player.

Running with the ball, dribbling, and Shooting

Learning how to run with the ball and dribbling and shooting are skills to work on. For example, in the video, one of our students executed this to perfection in scoring in 3 different goals as part of our soccer training drill. Enjoy the video!

Ball control "Juggling"

Ball control and possession is a key aspect of the game of soccer.  Learning how to juggle the ball can help maintain possession of the ball. I tell my students think of the ball as a gift, only give it to players you want to have it. Juggling can also help a player dribble an opponent by keeping the ball away from the opponent or lifting it over the opponent's foot and/or head to get away from the opponent.
